Minutes of the Parish Council Meeting held on 4 November 2024 at 7.00pm at Saltfleet Methodist Church, Main Road, Louth Lincolnshire LN11 9HF

Item 1124/46 Welcome to the meeting: Chair opened meeting at 18.59 and welcomed the councillors, public and district councillors.
- A parishioner asked if we could go back to monthly meeting and Chair asked to put it on the agenda for next time.
Chair invited Cllr Ricketts to speak: 19.01
- Cllr has been absent due to ill health however has been involved with Security panel in helping to reduce CO2 omissions in Easy Lindsey.
- New pelican crossing to go outside Aldi
- Council is offering digital inclusivity sessions for residents on 8 November between 10 – 12 at Meridale, Sutton-on-sea
- The street light are not being turned off in parish as a deterrent antisocial behaviour
Chair invited Cllr McNally to speak
- Lincoln castle wall walk will open from 29 November more details LINCOLN CASTLE ILLUMINATED – Lincoln Castle
- The previous grant for free trees has now been fulfilled but a further grant will be announced shortly and we will be kept informed.
- Devolution plan has been approved and there will be a Mayor for Greater Lincolnshire

Item 1124/47 To receive declarations of interest in accordance with the Localism Act 2011 and to consider any requests for dispensations: Cllr Warsap will decline from votes regarding memorial beacon due to her family connection
Item 1124/48 Apologies for absence: Apologies received and accepted from Cllr Campion
Item 1124/49 To approve the draft notes as minutes of the last meeting held on the 2 September 2024: RESOLVED to adopt and sign the notes as accurate minutes, and they were dated and signed by the Chair.
Item 1124/50 Chair’s Report:
- There was an enquiry from vendors of the Crown via email to gauge the response of the parish regarding change of the use from pub to a print works in the area. The family would live upstairs and run the business from the downstairs part.
- Church conservation trust are paying the lights to be kept on until 5am due the potential vandalism issue due to the Halloween period.
Item 1124/51 Training: Training available to all Staff and elected Members and clerk recommends councillors to view training schedule. Two Cllr have been on safeguarding training which is covered for four years.
Item 1124/52 Parish Matters To receive updates from in respect of:
- Radar speed indicator signs – Speed indictor and post ordered. Awaiting installation date
- Playing field – Andrew Clove is waiting for the bio-diversity report and we will add the memorial beacon to the planning application so that we are not paying for two application. Timimgs are spring 2025.
- Temporary toilet still on car park, clerk to arrange cancellation
All points below will be dealt with by playing committee
- Play area, Ten wood fence stays missing, some nails or screws protruding.
- Doughnut swing, red HS comment, too low needs raising to recommended ground clearance. Chains hardened steel, stainless steel. Requires cutting and shortened plus safety chains repositioned.
- Planked walkway, not from report as recent failure, one eye bolt on support chain has come loose from retaining nut. Nut possibly still in structure as plastic cap in place.
- Zip Wire, spring stop system requires a longer spring to restrain pulley assembly from allowing occupant to impact wood supports.
- Burial ground – The land registry error still has not be rectified. Will continue to chase vendor via solicitors and we can exchange and planning can be granted
- Memorial Beacon – The posts can be 3.2m high from 2.5m as discussed previously at £700 plus VAT and will be added to the planning application as discussed in point b
- Highways issues – None

Representative needed to attend the Police Consultation review on 16 January 2025 via Teams Cllr Mace volunteered. Details to be forwarded.
